VII International Conference on Nanomaterials and Advanced Energy Storage Systems

From 7 to 9 August, the VII International Conference on Nanomaterials and Advanced Energy Storage Systems (INESS-2019) was held at Al-Farabi KazNU, in Almaty. The conference was organized by Nazarbayev University (NU), Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU), Institute of Batteries (IoB) and National Laboratory Astana (NLA).

Сonference subjects covered the following areas:

– Innovation nanomaterials;

– Innovation transformation and storage energy systems;

– Materials for electrochemical sensor and electroanalitical applications;

– Materials and technologies for alternative advanced energy applications;

– Solar energy materials and solar batteries;

– Semiconductors and optoelectronics;

– Catalysis and fuel cells;

– Battery control and management systems;

– Security and utilization of batteries;

– Development of electric cars and stationary energy storages;

– Instruments for modelling in material sciences and systems of energy transformation;

– Energy and environment;

– Smart energy systems.

For the first time INESS Conference was held in 2013 at Nazarbayev University, RK. To this day the INESS platform is a place where scientists and students from Japan, Korea, France, Germany, China, Russia, Canada, UAE, great Britain, Turkey and Kazakhstan can consider and discuss the latest achievements and problems in the area of materials science, nanotechnology, ecology, renewable energy, energy storage systems and modeling methods.

I.M. Kukushkin – Head of Laboratory for Structural and Fuel Materials Testing, O.S. Bukina – Junior Researcher of Laboratory for Structural and Fuel Materials Testing, K.K. Samarkhanov – Engineer of Intachannel Tests Laboratory and Ye.Yu. Tulubayev – Junior Researcher of Intachannel Tests Laboratory, who presented poster reports on the results of studies, conducted by the Department the Materials Research Tests.

One of the participants of the conference shares his impressions: «Many interesting people, scientists of different levels (from students to doctors). The event was in English, as for me personally, it was a test of language ability. Test passed! (Laughs). There was an opportunity to compare the level of this International Conference to the events held in the NNC (Annual Competition Conference for Young Scientists and Specialists, conferences, etc.). It should be noted that the level of our conferences is not lower, and in some moments is even higher. The overall impression of the INESS Conference is very bright and unforgettable!”
