The Institute of Atomic Energy Branch provides services for the transportation of nuclear materials by a special road transport on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the provision of transport support by the Transport Control Center.

Work experience:

• transportation of high enriched uranium fuel of the IVG.1M, IRGIT and RA reactors to the Russian Federation;
• transportation of BN-350 reactor spent nuclear fuel from Aktau, Mangystau region to Kurchatov, East Kazakhstan region to the site for long-term storage at the CRR “Baikal-1”;
• transportation of IRS from the Shymkentfosfor Plant, located near Shymkent, to the storage at the CRR “Baikal-1”, Kurchatov, East Kazakhstan region;
• transportation of RW from the former arsenal of the Military Unit 65476 (Tokrau village, Karaganda region) to the storage at the CRR “Baikal-1”, Kurchatov, East Kazakhstan region;

• transportation of RW from the former Irtysh Chemical and Metallurgical Plant in the Pervomaisky village of the East Kazakhstan region to the storage at the CRR “Baikal-1”, Kurchatov, East Kazakhstan region;
• transportation of nuclear waste (contaminated soil) from the former Semipalatinsk Test Site to the storage at the CRR “Baikal-1”, Kurchatov, East Kazakhstan region.
