International Meeting on the Reduced Enrichment of Research and Test Reactors
Employees of the IAE Branch NNC RK took part in the International Meeting on reduced enrichment of research and test reactors, which was held between 6 and 9 October 2019 in Croatia.
Within the event, 3 reports have been presented:
- In-pile tests of fuel assemblies with low enriched uranium fuel for IVG.1M reactor (speaker: V.S. Gnyrya);
- Out-of-pile tests of advanced fuel for IGR reactor conversion (speaker: Yu.Yu. Baklanova);
- Analysis of design-basis accidents at the IVG.1M reactor (speaker: R.A. Irkimbekov).
Moreover, bilateral meetings between representatives of DOE, ANL, INL and IAEA were carried out, where issues of future steps for IVG.1M and IGR research reactors conversion have been discussed.
In general, implemented scope of work for conversion of NNC’s reactors to low enriched uranium fuel and presented reports were highly appreciated by our foreign partners.
