The experiments with the KTM graphite tiles lining
To prepare the Kazakhstan tokamak KTM vacuum chamber for experiments, a series of experiments was conducted to study the gas release from graphite tiles (lining the inner surface of the vacuum chamber) during their annealing in the temperature range from 20°С up to 500°С. The work was carried out on the experimental installation VIKA. The experiments were conducted with the goal of developing the recommendations on the technology for preparing graphite tiles for the installation in the tokamak KTM vacuum chamber. The effect of pre – washing the samples with alcohol and drying them at temperatures of ~150℃ – 200℃ on the gas release during the subsequent vacuum heating of the samples was studied.
During the experiments, the recommendations were developed for installing graphite tiles in a vacuum chamber in accordance with the vacuum hygiene, as well as without any preliminary procedures (washing in alcohol, drying, etc.).
