Second Scientific Workshop

The employees of the IAE Branch RSE NNC RK took part in work of the Second Scientific Workshop between the specialists of the National Nuclear Center RK, Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corp. and Marubeni Utility Services, which was held between 11 and 14 November 2018 in Tokyo (Japan).

In the course of this Workshop topical issues were discussed related to elimination of the accident at the Fukushima NNP. Japanese colleagues were interested in the results of experimental studies carried out previously at the Branch’s facilities.

In addition, it was considered the possibility to implement joint research in corium aging and muon radiography (tomography) of nuclear facilities at the Branch’s experimental base.

The agreements reached during the workshop allow expanding Kazakh-Japanese cooperation in the field of research and ensuring the safe use of atomic energy.
