Results of the working visit of the NNC RK delegation to the USA.

On July 14, during the working visit of the NNC RK delegation to Washington (USA), a meeting with the head and managers of the program of conversion and minimization of highly enriched fuel was held.

Within the framework of the meeting, the results of joint work on conversion of the research reactor IVG.1M and development of technology for dilution of irradiated fuel of the IGR reactor were summarized, and the stages of further cooperation were outlined. In addition, the parties discussed the prospects for joint scientific research using the TREAT and IGR reactors.

In general, the parties gave a high assessment of the implemented activities and noted the effectiveness of teamwork between the U.S. and RK specialists. As Jeff Chamberlain, head of the conversion program, noted at the meeting: “We have a task to maintain the existing friendly and partnership relations, the level of mutual trust and understanding in joint projects.
