Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) colleagues visit, July 21-24, 2025

From July 21 to 24, 2025, the representatives of the Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) visited the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NNC RK). During the visit, a number of technical meetings were held between the specialists of the ANL and NNC RK.
The main purpose of the events was to discuss the work plan for the development and testing of low-enriched (LEU) high-temperature graphite fuel for the conversion of the IGR reactor, which is planned to be fabricated using the technology being developed by NNC RK. The activity is carried out under the joint conversion program implemented in accordance with the Blanket Master Contract between the ANL and the Institute of Atomic Energy Branch of RSE NNC RK.
The visit contributed to strengthen the partnership relations and coordinate further steps to implement joint projects in the field of nuclear safety and non-proliferation.
