Public Hearings on IGR Reactor Project Held in Bolshoy Akzhar

On September 21, 2026, the village of Bolshoy Akzhar in the Pavlodar region’s Maysky district hosted an open public meeting. The hearings were organized as part of the state environmental impact assessment for the upcoming project, “Expansion of the IGR Research Reactor Complex: Highly Enriched Uranium-Graphite (HEU) Fuel Repackaging Section.”

Representatives from the Institute of Atomic Energy branch presented the project details and addressed questions from the community. The event concluded with the participants voting unanimously in favor of the proposed project.
