Forum in Minsk
The National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NNC RK) took part in the 18th International Heat and Mass Transfer Forum, which was held in Minsk, Belarus, from May 18 to 21, 2026. The main organizers of the forum were the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Belarus, the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, and the A.V. Lykov Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the NAS of Belarus.
The forum brought together many scientists and specialists in the field of heat and mass transfer from different countries. Among the participants was Yerzhan Kabdylkakov, 2nd Category Engineer, Laboratory for Research of Thermophysical and Neutronic Characteristics of Irradiation Devices, branch “Institute of Atomic Energy”, NNC RK. He delivered an oral presentation entitled “Modeling of Reactor Irradiation Device Fuel Assembly Melting Using Ansys Fluent Software” within the section “Transport Processes in Nuclear Power Facilities”.
During the 4 days of the forum, more than 400 presentations were delivered. Special attention was given to plenary lectures by leading scientists. The plenary sessions covered important topics related to the development of modern energy technologies, including “Evolution of the Atom: Nuclear and Accelerator Technologies and Megascience Facilities”, “Modern Methods of Ultra-Intensive Surface Cooling: Evaporation and Boiling”, “Identification of Mathematical Heat Transfer Models in Space Technology”, “The Role of Nuclear Power in the Electric Power Industry of Russia, Belarus, and the World”, “Kinetic Models and Simulation of Hydro- and Gas Dynamics Problems”, and others.
